Who we are and how we process your personal data

Caroline Bridges complies with her obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by keeping personal data up to date (and destroying it) securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, and by ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to protect personal data.   

This Privacy Statement informs you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it.

 

Use of personal information

Your personal data will be used to:

 

  • Deliver the services that clients have requested.

  • To contact those clients in accordance with the services that they have requested.

  • To maintain business accounts and records.

 

Sharing information with third parties

Individual client data will not be passed to a third party without the client’s consent, provided that such

confidentiality is neither inconsistent with the therapist’s own safety or that of the client, the client’s family members or other members of the public, nor in contravention of any legal action or legal requirement.

 

Retention of personal information

Access to client data will be maintained for the time required by my insurer (currently 7 years).

 

Security and confidentiality

All information provided will be stored securely and not used for any purpose other than for which it was provided.

 

Links to other websites

Where we provide links to websites of other organisations, this privacy notice does not cover how that organisation processes personal information. We encourage you to read the privacy notices on the other websites you visit.

 

Your rights and your personal data

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

 

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which Caroline Bridges holds about you.

  • The right to request that Caroline Bridges corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date.

  • The right to request your personal data is deleted where it is no longer necessary for Caroline Bridges to retain such data.

  • The right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your information at any time. If we are unable to demonstrate our legitimate grounds for that processing, we will no longer process your Personal Information for those purposes.

  • The right to request that the Personal Information we hold about you be transferred to a third-party data controller. This refers to where we are processing your Personal Information automatically for the purposes of performing our contract with you, known as the right to data portability where applicable.

  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing.

  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.

 

Complaints notice

The client has the right to complain to the Independent Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if they believe that there is a problem with the way in which their personal information is being processed - //ico.org.uk/concerns/handling/.

Analytics

Information may be collected about how visitors use our website in order to help us make better decisions about design and writing. Occasionally, we will compile aggregate statistics about the number of visitors this site receives, and browsers being used. No personally identifying data is included in this type of reporting.
